Sign a non-disclosure agreement and clearly define what constitutes your confidential information. If you add custom features to an ODM platform, negotiate exclusivity for those specific modifications in your target market. Keep your own branding, packaging, and customer-facing documentation separate from the base design.
At minimum, request a dimensional report, material certificate, hardness test, and surface-finish measurement. For OEM projects, add a first-article inspection report and a production control plan. For severe-service balls, include coating-thickness and adhesion test reports.
